ANZ Tennis Hot Shot of the Year nominee Bianca

Eight lucky ANZ Tennis Hot Shots players will be nominated for the highly sought-after the ANZ Tennis Hot Shot of the Year 2017 award. All nominees win an equipment pack and VIP experience at Australian Open 2018, where one finalist will be crowned the winner, receiving $5000, a year of free coaching and a lesson at their club with program ambassador Alicia Molik. Meet the latest nominee:

Where do you play ANZ Tennis Hot Shots and what stage do you currently play?

I play at the Mildura Lawn Tennis Club in the green ball group and play competition tennis on Saturday mornings.

What do you like about playing tennis?

It is a fun sport that I will be able to play all my life with my friends.

What is your favourite shot and why?

A serve because you can use it to start each point and it’s a little bit hard.

Who do you like playing tennis with?

I like to play with my friends and also with people that can challenge me so that I can improve.

Do you have a favourite tennis player?

My favourite tennis players are Roger Federer and Serena Williams. They are my idols and always show good sportsmanship on and off the court.

Do you have any tennis goals?

To be able to play at the Australian Open like my idols.

What is your favourite tennis memory? Have you attended any tournaments?

My favourite memory was when my tennis team and I won the grand final in our very first winter competition. It was very exciting!

How does it feel to be nominated for the ANZ Tennis Hot Shot of the Year award?

I feel shocked and surprised, but I am joyful and excited!!

What are you looking forward to when you visit the Australian Open?

I am excited about the experience of seeing pro-tennis players and watching them play, learning new skills and meeting new people!
