ANZ Tennis Hot Shot of the Year nominee: Abigail
Eight lucky ANZ Tennis Hot Shots players will be nominated for the highly sought-after the ANZ Tennis Hot Shot of the Year 2017 award. All nominees win an equipment pack and VIP experience at Australian Open 2018, where one finalist will be crowned the winner, receiving $5000, a year of free coaching and a lesson at their club with program ambassador Alicia Molik. Where do you play ANZ Tennis Hot Shots and what stage do you currently play?
I play ANZ Tennis Hot Shots at Belmont Tennis Club and I’m at orange stage.
What do you like about playing tennis?
I like the team games we do.
What is your favourite shot and why?
My favourite shot is the donkey shot because I’m good at it.
Who do you like playing tennis with?
Do you have a favourite tennis player?
Do you have any tennis goals?
I’d like to learn how to do “flip the pancake” and “fish and chips”.
What is your favourite tennis memory? Have you attended any tournaments?
My favourite memory is watching the Australian Open with my Grandma at her house. I went to the Hopman Cup with my daddy.
How does it feel to be nominated for the ANZ Tennis Hot Shot of the Year award?
I feel really proud and happy! When my mum told me it was the best day of my life!
What are you looking forward to when you visit the Australian Open in 2018?
I’m very excited to get to go to Melbourne and see the players.
